Well, my often contrarian view is coming to the fore again, I'm afraid. Just what would such a frame have to be to be better? Better brazed? Seen a naked Kirk frame? How would it get any better? And these are the everyday ones he builds. Ride better? How would a bike ride any better than a Richard Sachs bike? More ornate lugs? Perhaps...but over the top doesn't get it with myself or a lot of my buddies...The beautiful simplicity and grace of the curves found in a Hurlow or Richard Moon lug are unlikely to be surpassed in any fashion, in my scheme of things. I really think the better bikes are what our contemporary American builders are building right now...better get one...the price is right! Charging ten grand would not make them any better...nor would gold plating them...
