Subject: [CR]Campag Spindle Length to Proper Crank ?

Ahoy !

Sorry for this query as I should know the data by rote. This is the ol' CPSC conundrum.

I do not recall the stamped number of the Campag spindle installed so, foolish me, I cannot determine which Campag crank to use.

Not wanting to disassemble the bb, I am wondering if the overall length of the spindle would indicate which crank to use. Would this be accurate? No, I do not have cranks at the ready for an immediate trial and error.

The overall length of the installed spindle is 113mm. And, a "diamond" 8 (1978?) Campag crank seems to fit rather close inboard. Chain rings to not hit the stay but that 42t inner is oh, so close. Should a newer than 1978 crank be fitted to that 113 spindle ?

If so then, what are the overall lengths for the pre- and post CPSP spindles?

Thank you. Uh, duh.
