The cantle plate (which is aluminum) eventually cracks crosswise with enough riding. I've seen a couple now that have cracked. One was on a large friend of mine's bike that he put a lot of miles on. The girder rails are not a problem, just the cantle. I would imagine it's a "milage might vary" thing.
