The alloy 3-arm Gran Sport cranks look like this: http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Freeks-racefietsen/album288/KIF_3021.jpg.html

I can't see much difference in finish compared to the Record crankarms. Only the scooped out (what is the right term here?) portions, or rather the edges of them, are different.

The later 5-arm Gran Sport cranks are different though, and are indeed rougher all over.
