I use toe clips and straps, but I very rarely wear cleats anymore and my brief use of clipless pedals ended 10 yeras ago. I normally wear cycle touring shoes, of which Lake and Diadora both make excellent models.

But I've been riding on flat, double sided pedals for a couple of years now and have no plans to go back.
