Folks:

I don't know how anyone can stand that either! :) But "different strokes for different folks"; some members are quite happy & adapted to the Digest version.

But Chuck offers a way to streamline the mail issue..

Read the archives. In addition to sending the mail to a delete file (not all e-mail services work that way.) it is also easy to be a CR member but choose "no mail" so you can post messages but not receive the mail, directly, at all.

In light of all this concern of too much mail (a long standing problem with this list IMO), I wish members would hestitate before posting to this list, making sure that their messages are on topic, not repetitive nor "light conversation."

Here's my method: Read the archive everyday. Also still subscribe to the list so I can still post, but have all the posts from subscribing go to a delete file through the use of a filter.
