I've had fantastic luck with Fed Ex Ground. Unfortunately, I did have one major damage on a Merckx frame I had shipped to a painter to have it painted as a 7-Eleven replica. The box looked like it was sat on by an elephant. Trashed the frame, and they quickly paid me the claimed value - no fights. I used the money to buy a beautiful (real) 7-Eleven frame that Brian Baylis had in his shop to touch up for the previous owner. I got very lucky on that deal.
