Subject: [CR]Making the ownership a bit richer...

A few years ago I picked up my '52 Viking Road/Path from a UK lady, an Elizabeth Marsh I believe. She mentioned to me that it had been a one-off from Viking for a Mr. "Daisey" Day, and that he had ridden for the Icknfield Road Club. When Vic Davies did his call for Viking owners a couple weeks back I told him about it, and he sent me the link to the Icknfield RC. I contacted the President, Richard Noon, and he made a few inquiries of the old timers. Turns out some of these guys knew Daisey. He was with Icknfield from '87 to '97, but rode in the 1950's with the Luton Arrow CC. Anyone on the other side familiar with this one? According to Mr. Noon there are 4 or 5 surviving members of this club. Apparently Daisey had quite a collection of "bike bits" and the locals would come visit him just to go into his shed. Something tells me that would have been a thrill, the stuff that dreams are made of. That's all. Just a neat little story and historical tidbit to hang on the bike. Crowds the saddle some though.
