I could go through a critique of this process with considering issues of monitor and printer color calibrations, but I admire our contemporary 'Itten' (him with Albers were the color theorists of the Bauhaus and codified color systems) for putting so much effort into this system- i cannot help but be in awe.

What Don neglected to tell you is that through all his iterations of working this 'system' through is that he developed a sensitivity to seeing which also can be acquired with many years of painting or study. It really makes for some interesting ways of seeing/analyzing color and worth the research. acrylic dries from 10-15 percent darker than what it looks like wet.
