Subject: [CR]Mafac DURAL FORGE red bushing centerpull pads

Does anybody know if Mafac used various sizes of holders on these brakes, or have I got an odd ball size?

On Mafac DURAL FORGE red bushing centerpulls I wanted to keep the alum. pad holders and replace the old 4 dot pads with Kool-Stop salmon pads. My holders and pads measure 9.4 mm at the wide part of the dovetail, and are 45.5 mm long.

The recommended Campy Replacement Pad Part number KS-CRSA (salmon compound) *NEW" is too wide. 11.62mm at the wide part of the dovetail, and 8mm at the narrow.

Next tried the Campy 2000, 9mm at the widest, 7.75mm at the narrow. Too loose.

Finally Tim Watson, at Kool-Stop customer service, suggested the KS-C89SA . He wrote, "campi 8/9 speed (pre 2000) 10mm, 9mm . The 8/9 groupo is unbelievably tight but that is the way campi designed them". I bought KS-C89SA which is a good snug fit though 7mm longer.
