Subject: [CR]G.L. in script on seatpost

This is starting to really bother me, cause I posted an enquiry (long time past) to the list concerning an old alloy seatpost that had only the initials G and L engraved in cursive script on the backside of the shaft. Now someone on another forum has the same seat post and I've been racking my brain (and searching the archives) to drag up the answer..to no avail. Who made it? Note that the "L" looks like an "S" to many, it's a bit too stylized for a quick read. I seem to remember it being French, could be wrong there, too, but the only other mark on it is "brev." which could be French or Italian. Thanks in Advance for jumpstarting my brain,
