Stephen,

Because its British ruled. Ship to UK is $200 more in shipping and insurance on almost all items. Down Under is allot, but less than UK, mainly because UK currency is 2:1 to USD, and Australian currency is less 1:1 to USD.

But other than that relative difference, it is expensive. The reason WHY is the UK TAXMAN!

I'd love to have some products from UK, but I don' love them that much, lol. The UK Taxman really makes it hard on Australia, since they could really be more of a major international player without the no value-add UK tax burdon. They should break away like the US did. They would have the strategic advantage of defending an island, like America did. Just the tax savings alone would support an army 4 times the size of UK. And bomb for bomb damage on each of their islands, UK would sustain heavier losses. GO FOR IT AUSTRAILIA!

I have found that Fed Ex is the cheapest...although it is still very expensive. I don't know why it would cost more to fly it over one ocean as opposed to another, but for some reason, it is MUCH more expensive to send frames to and from Australia. A guy in Australia sent me a frame (1976 Gitane!) using TNT.

Good luck!
