First, a rather cool early Colnago Super (pre-1973, most likely..the cutouts in the seat-lug and upper head-lug-tangs were gone by late 1973 at the latest..although some frames might have sat around awhile before being sold)..
It's been repainted, but could easily be put back to as-original for not a huge amount of money--Colnago paint-jobs being relatively straightforward..I believe the playing-card graphics are available to certain painters..you'd want the playing card graphics if you could get them..although, that said, I've seen a couple of Supers of this era in original paint that had contrasting seat-tube and head-tube panels with the next generation of graphics... the graphics on it currently are all wrong for the period, if done well-enough in themselves.
also, I found these, and they really piqued my interest:
I always thought that these grooved-and-enamelled calipers were OEM on things like 80s Cioccs and Olmos, but did not show up on Colnagos from the factory..yet, here we have a set with levers that have the Colnago logo on them. I suppose the levers could have been dropped into this box after the fact to make a set...I suspect that. But, maybe these WERE sold after-market for Colnagos.. I'd love to have a bit of clarification on this..
On a related subject, some may remember the Olmo Pro of the mid-1970s that came with some very cool milled-out Campagnolo calipers. the calipers looked a little scary, milled all the way through in an artful fashion. If you've seen them, you'd never forget them...they also came on the Sutter Pro (made by Olmo)..
Now, in my increasingly fuzzy memory, I seem to recall seeing calipers of this sort on some early Colnago Supers, from the factory. But I've never been sure if this was a true memory, or something I conflated out of related memories.
If you know these milled-out calipers...do you remember if they ever came on colnagos of the mid 70s?
