Has anyone had experience on bleaching out old stains on a hard leather saddle? I mean one of those that you only get one chance of doing it right as there are few replacement to find if you want a second chance. I have an older UNIC saddle with the Motobecane logo embossed and although it has had little or no use there are rust stains and shop stains from just being stored in some wet or foggy country. I have had excellent luck in cleaning most older saddles but I wanted to even up the base color before applying a stain and then buffing the saddle. I have oxalic acid that I have used to bleach wood (and that does even the color on wood), and even a reduction bleach that I use on rust stains in wood. Any experienced leather workers or ex harness makers? BT
