Subject: [CR]New Member Hello - Dan Rogers

Hello from Alaska.

My name is Dan Rogers. I was introduced to this list yesterday by a friend (Mike Kelly) who subscribes and who I've known and ridden with for 20 years (where did all that time go to!), although it has been years since we have seen each other, as well.

I have been involved with cycling since the mid-70s. I was a mechanic for a shop in Anchorage for a number of years, built a few custom frames (one of which I still have), and have owned a number of interesting bikes, some of which I still have. My "prize", and the reason Mike and I reconnected, was my 76 Masi Gran Criterium (Carlsbad) that I recently listed on e-Bay. That will be the topic of another post, just to keep the threads straight. I also have owned an Elsworthy track bike, a early 80's DeRosa (both are gone now), and still currently have an '81 Freschi (built to my specs, which were "Masi" specs, by Freschi. I picked this bike up in Milano, while riding there with Mike in '81. The same trip we visited Masi and met Sr. Alberto.), my '79 531 frame (all Super Record, and some pretty interesting steel geometry, at least for the time). It's not much compared to some of you guys, but it keeps my basement full. I've recently (last couple of years) gotten back into riding, so I have acquired some modern hardware as well.

That's the intro from the frozen (still) North. I look forward to reading and participating here, even after I clean out my basement a little .
