I offer up for your perusal some shots of an orange Pogliaghi track frame I recently purchased, serial # D 536.

http://andrewgura.com/pog/

The story I got from the gentleman I purchased it from was that he'd picked it up at the Manhattan Beach (my hometown) Grand Prix (Hi, Ted) in the ear ly 90s in worn condition.

When he had the money, he treated the frame to a Brian Baylis (Hi, Brian) p aint job, but that he'd wished he'd spent more money on the restoration.

• Mid to late 1970s, depending on which serial number system y ou belive • I believe that the head tube decal is late for this frame, a s it shows the number 30 on it, when something closer to 27 or 28 would be more appropriate. • It also doesn't seem to be correctly decaled. For example, t here is no indication of the tubing used and I have also seen Pogs of this era with stripes on the seat tube. • It appears that there was some sort of a miss when the serial was being stamped, because there is a distinct doubling of the number. See pho to.

The bike came with a decent assortment of somewhat crusty parts, among them :

• Campy Pista Cranks and Pedals, both in need of some polish t o remove surface schmutz. • Mismatched Rims (one Araya Aero, one Ambrosio) on extremely smooth Campy Record LF Hubs (!) • and the coolest part yet, a (according to seller) Brian Bayl is rechromed Cinelli Stayer stem (no badge), which looks as though it has n ever been mounted before. The Cinelli steel Pista bars that the bike came w ith originally were too thrashed to recover and were long gone by the time I came into the picture.

Apparently, he'd gotten the bike back from paint and chrome and let it sit for around 10 years, before deciding to offer it up for sale. It was close- ish to my house, so I was inspired to be the high bidder on eBay.

So I'm posting, at one level, to introduce myself and at another, to ask fo r any comments or notes about this lovely frame. I would love to know more. Feel free to request more photos as well.
