Powder blue was typically the color of the Falcon factory-sponsored teams in the 70's. Falcons were frequently seen in the US in red and orange, but it is the blue that is most associated with Falcon, like white is with Peugeot, blood red with LeJeune, pink with Mercier, or Ugo blue with DeRosa.

One thing that interested me in this article was the comment that "The classic Falcon colour scheme is a powder blue..."

At one point, there seemed to have been a lot of Falcons imported to the Washington, DC area - and according to my hazy recollections they were all painted the same flamboyant/transluscent/candy red.

Was that merely a function of the importer's preferences, the shop owners' preferences, or were there actually lots of blue examples being sold as well? Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
