I took my just finished early 60's Roma for its first real ride today. Must say everything worked swell and it rode surprisingly nice. I don't much care for long, shallow bikes but this one still handled very nicely. Not the slug in the corners I was expecting. Extremely comfortable as well.

But one problem I'm having is the upper downtube cable stop is really stretched and worn. I had problems with it slipping while I still had the bike on the stand. I tried making some fitted washers to shore up the bolt holes, and wrapped some cloth bar tape around the downtube before mounting, but it's not working. By the end of my 25 mile ride today it had slipped about 1/4" and left me with some really loose der cables.

It's part # 663 clamp-on cable stop for bar-end shifters with the pump umbrella. If anybody has a good used or NOS piece they would part with please let me know. It's really the only thing I need to start putting some miles on this bike.
