I was given a large wooden box of bike tools from the '60s yesterday at a
sale. In the box is a tool I have never seen before. It says on it Huret
and Derailleur and Ref.650 and, of course Made in France. The other side
proclaims it to be chrome and Molybdene. It has a 17 mm open end wrench on
one end and the other end has a flat surface with about a half inch slot in
it...sort of like a brake toe in tool, but smaller, I believe. The slot is
about 18 mm long and 3 mm wide. The tool itself is 40 mm long. I can send
a pic in an E-Mail to those who might like to see it. Anyone have an idea?
Not a device to bend a derailleur mounting tab, certainly?
>From this box I have about 10# of misc. rusty and dirty wrenches that I
think I'll just put into a bag and bring to Cirque and folks can take
anything they want from it.
Now to the give aways. In the box was a quite presentable Stronglight crank
dust cap and a Bayliss-Wiley fixed cup marked made in England. If anyone
has a use for either or both (please, only if you need them...not just to
stash) , I'll send them to them for the cost of shipping, or a burger at
Cirque or your call...I'm a cheap date.
