Folks, It is not my bike, but a very interesting Helyett randonneur-style bike, nicely executed and in quite nice condition has just appeared on the US eBay auction site. Item # 260117055033 . Appears to have a first generation Simplex Prestige rear derailleur, which would help confirm the seller's guess at the age of the bike. I am only familiar with this marques Racing models, so this is an unusual discovery. The model Tour de France decal with Anquetil's image on the seat tube is a surprise - since I would assume this was only seen on their "Speciale" racing bikes, some of which were indeed marketed with that model name. Perhaps Helyett was hoping to use the champion racer's familiarity to promote all of their bikes by this time. The "Buy-it-now" price is VERY high for a rather unfamiliar Marque - and a lesser tier model. The frame would be too small for me to ride or I would be very tempted to take a shot at the bidding on this. Perhaps someone else on the CR list may wish to take a chance.
