Thanks for the prodding Doug. I'll bite. I am quite fond of my Fuji "The Finest" (though I cringe every time I write, or say the name). It would still be my "A" ride, if it were about 2cm smaller.

It isn't the lightest, but it certainly is light. It doesn't have the prettiest finish, but it certainly is nice. The tubing isn't Reynolds, or Columbus, and frankly, I'm not quite sure what it is, but it has a very nice combination of compliance and responsiveness. Kevin Kruger was there on the ride where I ran over a groundhog with this bike (not intentional), and about a kilometer later had to sprint to avoid falling prey to a young pit bull.

I realize that most Japanese bicycles have the stigma of being mass produced, but Fuji definitely got things right with this model. I plan on bringing her to the Cirque this year. Who knows, it might be the only Japanese bike there. ;-)

If we want to get down to third-tier, I'll be happy to wax poetic, extolling the virtues of my Raleigh SuperCourse. :D
