Since Jack Gabus pointed out the Shimano ebay bike...

Perhaps someone could identify the builder of THIS Shimano badged Dura-Ace AX showpiece from 1982.

This bike looks like the frame was specially built to showcase the component group. There is a decal on the chainstay guard which suggests there was some kind of Italian connection, and all of the Shimano decals on the bike are in English. So, perhaps this was a show bike or a distributor's "sample" sent around to help promote the components.

In fact, there are a lot of interesting features on the bike, including the extremely flattened frame tubes and a seatpost set-screw behind the seat tube. And, dig those wild NITTO handlebars.

This Japanese enthusiast has some very interesting bikes, individually listed if you click the "Back" button at the bottom of his web page. I'll confess that his unique modern (& vintage French) TOEI would have to be my favorite.
