Trick bike is not a correct term. The discipline is called Kunstfahren in German which means artistic riding (cycling) literal translation. It was also refered to as "Reigen" which is an older German word meaning a round dance or rondel. It also made sense as with a group they did close circle or ranks or "Reigen schliessen" while riding. The artistic end came more in the line of acrobatics and less formally trick could be used, but it devalued the art and talent. These competitions also were World Championship events, and the European countries had VERY hard competitions. The bicycle polo bikes were similar but heavier duty. Neat stuff. But definitely not a track conversion.
