Scott Davis wrote of the possibility of sending boxes Parcel Post rather than Priority Mail. there is a catch there...anything over 14 ounces is upgraded to Priority and you don't have a choice in the matter. I'd say for frames and bars one might well look to Fed Ex...I have no experience with DHL. There seems to be no way around it...when gas goes to $3-4 per gallon, folks want more to deliver your stuff. I often grumble about it, but most ways to ship are really a bargain. I can ship a frame the 139 miles from my house to Doug Fattic's shop for $11-13...to drive it to deliver the frame is a whole lot more expensive, obviously.
