Doug,

I feel responsible to answer since you and I probably belong to a group of 4 people that appreciate the marvelous Schwinn Super Sport (even though they ride awful unless comparing them to a Huffy). I just measured the front fork dropout spacing on my 1965 Super Sport. It is a normal 100mm. Forks are often out of alignment. It isn't like they are hard to bend back, it is just that it is easiest if you have framebuilding equipment to check it. Getting all the aspects of alignment correct takes a bit of effort. You bend one thing and it throws something else out of whack and then you get that straightened out and something else goes, etc. - and you do need H tools. This is why making friends with a framebuilder is a good idea.

Howdy folks.

Well I have my SS project frameset now and it seems these used a narrow front hub? My normal front wheel was a real struggle to cram in; the fork blades are much tougher to pull apart than rear stays. Is this correct, or has my fork been squished a bit? What should I do? Thanks in advance :^)
