I think Charles was riding his blue Gitane "frankenbike" as he called it.

Well Mike Schmidt didnt show but we still had a great time. We did a different route than planned so it went a little longer than what was advertised. We did the usual Camino Alto climb then cruised thru downtown Larkspur, Ross and Kent Woodlands to San Rafael. After more than a few stops for red lights (no chance to blow those lights as cross traffic was brisk) we made it out past civilization to the Marin Gold Coast. Our goal was a bayside ride thru China Camp , the Chinese Fishermen are long gone but its a nice quiet stretch of road along Suisun Bay (Marc called that out) This route was an old weeknight training ride ,as I recall the first place finisher got a Rubber Chicken which he would add some decoration to and return the next Wednesday. It was one well decorated trophy after a while (anyone know what happened to it? or any of the riders for that matter.) We stopped at a small restaurant near the Marin Civic Center(one of Frank Lloyd Wrights best know designs) to have some free orange juice that had been offered by the owner (Cyclists and free food, are we a cheap date or what?)After our lunch we headed back thru San Rafael to Mill Valley via way more climbs than I remember there being. I am having computer problems so no link to the photos in wooljersey, but they are there in my Nitro Bobs Bikes folder in the Bay area ride file "China Camp" ride Anyway another great Bay Area ride with 11 riders attending Jan Johnson and her Peter J Peter Johnson on his very nice Italian MASI Marc St Martin on his chrome Herse Guy Apple on a Bianchi Frescia (3 cog freewheel) Steve Meyer on a nice 70s Eisentraut Dave Clementson on his Hetchins Greg Davis in full Windsor kit on his Windsor Eric Meddaugh on his FREE MASI 3V (no kidding!!) Charles Colerich on a DeRosa(?) Don Gieb on a DeRosa and myself on the old war horse Bianchi SC

I think a great time was had by all (Charles liked to so much he came back on Monday and did it again)

See you at CIRC
