In 1978, I built a pair of bicycles for my in-laws. I used Haden lugs that had a design inspired by a Nervex model. They are more than plain but not fancy. I cut out an old English C in the down tube lug. They have a Hetchins/Hurlow fastback seat stay attachment style (the stays go into the brazed on seat binder bolt). The long slot Campy 1010 dropouts have fender eyelets and the stays also have bosses for a rear rack. They have 72 parallel angles and long chainstays. My father-in-law's frame is a shade under 56cm c-c seat tube with a 56cm top tube length. The top of the top tube is 31 3/4" off the ground . The brake clearance is 52mm. My mother-in-law's frame has a 46 cm seat tube and 51cm top tube. I brazed on cantilever brakes to make the straddle height as low as possible while still using 700c wheels. The top of the top tube is 28 1/2" off the ground. They have imperial size fork blades.

I would like to repaint them in some 2 color scheme and sell the refurbished pair for $2500 or $1400 each if sold separately. My in-laws gave very specific instructions that this money was only to be used for my daughter's college tuition. She just completed her freshman year. I'm advertising them before I begin this work because if someone is interested, it is possible to adjust the braze-ons or paint colors to suit individual choice. Of course some choices could add cost to the total.

These are very nice frames and not ridden very often. Although I have made a number of frames in my 32 years since learning the craft in England, I almost never see them come up for sale. I can email pictures to those interested. Feel free to contact me by phone or email.

Thanks,
