I think poseur is a state-of-mind, not a state-of-body or state-of-bike. In the case of riding a boneshaker, well, you're clearing riding to put on a show, almost like acting for an audience.
If Greg Lemond rode up beside me and said, "World Champion, huh?" I might just say, "Nah, I'm just doing this out of respect for Greg Lemond, he's my hero and I hope someday I'll get to meet him ..."
Then Greg Lemond might be the one dropped off the back of the pack, and Greg Lemond might be the one who went back to the parking lot ...
