Interesting you should say that. When I was at Trek in the early 80s, I remember seeing about 3 pallets of clamp-on retrofriction levers in the warehouse. I think we had to get them in order to get the Simplex derailleurs we were using on a model, but we had specced bar-cons or something instead to the clamp-on downtube leves. I wonder whatever happened to them? Maybe I ought to head down to the Waterloo landfill with a metal detector?
