A French cyclist that I know has just offered me a Rene Herse Randonneue s cycle..ie a Herse lady's touring bike.
The jpegs show an immaculate machine of lugged construction, with intern al rear brake cable. The finish is either black or very dark red/brown with gold lining. The bike is immaculate and comes with all the chrome low-ride r racks, Herse stem and chainset, Maxicar L/F Hubs, flat "w" shaped bars an d reverse brake levers. Gears are Huret and appear to be the long-arm LUXE model.
I wish I had looked at the bike in greater detail so that I could check out the brakes. No sizes are given either for the frame or wheels, but it l ooks to be about a 52/53 cms frame.
Is anyone interested in it? No price has been mentioned...but I am willi ng to either negotiate for you or put the seller in touch. If all goes well I might get to see the bike during then next week if and when I finally se t off for France.
The same seller tells me he also has a Gilles Berthoud bike for sale but as yet I have not received the photos.
