By riding them. I've worn out at least a dozen, just in normal use. By "worn out" I mean an unacceptable amount of slop in the parallelogram bushings. OTOH I noticed today my son is still riding the Cyclone I put on his bike 22 or so years ago.

Don't get me wrong, the 3 you mention are still among my favorites. They were cheap enough that I figured the short life span was worth the excellent shifting.
