Subject: [CR]Pogliaghi Pista-A Plea for Information

A Pogliaghi Pista frame has been offered on eBay: #230148399900. I know nothing about Pogliaghi save what I can see on CR's site, and what I've gleaned from the books: "The Custom Bicycle'" and The High-Tech Bicycle", which isn't very much. I need information. It seems that at some point Sante Pogliaghi sold his name. In the opinion of the "cognoscenti" is the frame currently offered made by his hand, or that of others-if, in fact, this can be determined at all? Does this matter?(I would it imagine it does). There is an apparent atypical stamping of initials on this frame. Such "mis-strikes" add to the interest of some collectables. What effect does this have on the authenticity and value of this frame-if any? The frame, alleged to be NOS, comes without a fork. Can the appropriate fork be readily obtained, or is a Lotto win more likely, or something in between? (i.e. might one be got during the current geologic era ?) What would be the among the proper hubs, cranks, bars, saddle, rims, gearing, etc. for such a frame? I have seen imagines of some similar (?) bikes but can't identify what I'm seeing, nor do I know whether it's period correct. Any and all help would be very much appreciated by, George Hollenberg, MD Westport, CT, USA
