Well I haven't found the Cycle Sport article, but I did find the section on Janssen in the book "Cycling's Golden Age". As discussed here a couple of months ago, this is a very nice book available at a quite reasonable price from World Cycling Productions.

The book proves Peter right, as Janssen is shown in the Yellow Jersey, with his sponsor Pelforth/ Sauvage LeJeune. Of course this raises the possibility that the 1968 Tour-winning bike had the now-politically-incorrect headbadge discussed here recently. BTW Janssen did also ride for the Bic team. I stiil think I've seen photos of him in a Peugeot jersey, but if so it obviously wasn't in 1968.

Don't think so... Janssen doesn't show in any Peugeot rosters I have during this era (I always associate him with the Bic team which was Gitane wasn't it?) and the machine he won the '68 TdF (riding for the Dutch national team) is not a PX-10 or least doesn't have the distinctive chrome fork ends etc. Anyway, Peugeot made no claim for the victory!
