Regarding Edward Albert's post on Change in the US eBay "vintage parts" category, eBay made the same change to my eBay account late today. Worked normal this morning, didn't work as normal at the end of the day.
I called eBay customer support. eBay is testing a new interface with some users, unannounced, so Edward and I won the lottery so far. My favorite searches for 'vintage parts' on US eBay stopped functioning as Edward described... the 'vintage parts' category gone... no bread crumbs trail showing it as a category after I clicked on My Favorites search for vintage parts.... dumped me right into a higher level 'parts and accessories' category.... and no 'vintage parts' sub-category as I clicked down deeper in the new search interface.
SOLUTION FOR NOW: If you scroll to the bottom of the eBay page you are on, there is a line saying that eBay is testing a new search interface, and you can click to opt out of the test. I opted out, and all is back to normal for US eBay vintage parts.
I didn't ask what is going to happen when the new search interface is finalized and rolled out to one and all.
