Thanks to a local cyclist who replied to my Craigslist post, I borrowed a Brigestone RB-1 for my work trip this week and was able to enjoy some fantastic riding and superb weather (who says it rains here ?). Portland is indeed such a bike friendly town, and it's kind of exciting to see so many cyclists out there as you ride.

I made it down to Sellwood cycles, and talked to Erik and his crew. Nice stop on my trip. I also took a long ride on Monday afternoon, and looped way south to a ferry boat river crossing in the town of Canby (I think it was). Country roads such as I've not seen since my England ride !! I also stopped by and met fellow listmember Larry M - which was great.

I can't wait to return.

A few pictures of the landscape (well, mainly of the RB-1 !!) are at: http://www-hsc.usc.edu/~rpinder/portland.html
