Chocolate Water Bottles

Not only was Menier Chocolates the first company to place a vehicle in the Tour de France publicity caravan (1930), but they also provided the water bottles for a number of years. Here we see yellow jersey wearer Antonin Magne (left) with teammates Charles Pélissier (center), and André Leducq on the final stage of the 1931 Tour de France. Look closely and you'll see the Chocolat Menier graphics on their water bottles. I've inserted a copy of the period advertising poster for comparison. From "Match l'Intran" No.255, 28 July 1931.
