My typical classic TT setup was to run a 13/18 cogset with a 54t Ring. 24o Campy front hub radial laced with a 28o rear laced X2. Also a longer stem, lowered to the limit to allow for flatter and more back extension.

Depending on the road surface conditions I would often use track tubulars. Short courses of 10 miles or less meant no water bottles. Brims of caps were neatly cut off or caps were turned backwards.

Per Ray Green's sign off ... and for those on this side of the pond, a tester is a Time Trialer... ie; one who tests themself against the watch.

I noticed that all the Discovery team mount a single bottle on the seat tube in TTs. I am pretty sure that this isnt a whim of the team mechanic and it is something that they know shaves time. It sure worked for Levi! Ray Green(ex tester), Brighton, Sussex
