Really can\u2019t speak to scientific attributes of bike materials, weight and gravity. Simple in my opinions and perspectives and know what I know from being on the front line and in the trenches. In my opinion physical and mental fitness is a key driver to how fast a bike moves. I am not a fast rider by any means but in the city with my steel companion beneath me, I have dropped a few composite bikes healed by well groomed roadies. On the flip side, I have had my ego shattered when a rider wearing a skirt and cowboy boots on an anchor, a commuter that rides 300 plus days a year, cruised by me like I was standing still. That is what I know.
