So this is it! I.e. a René Herse racer that includes the type of details we associate with his best cyclotouriste bicycles.
One question I have is this: Did Monsieur Herse modify the rear Huret derailleur to make the action less stiff than a new one? In my experience, it took quite a few miles for the action to feel as "nice" as Campagnolo or Simplex. Or perhaps it was me - the Alvit was my first derailleur, and I was just a student of shifting at the time?
Luckily, thisbike isa bit too large for me, otherwise I would be thinking of how to conjure up $10,000. Amitiés, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
