What's meant by "vintage spokes" anyway? Those zinc or cad plated ones that start to corrode after a few years? No thanks. Any kind of stainless steel spokes are preferable, so long as they're the same type. Spokes are an expendable wear item, like chains, tires, grease or the air in your tires. Using plain gauge spokes where butted ones were originally, however, would be unacceptable.
