I'm not an expert on acetylene lamps but not long ago I went up to see my Uncle Ron to show him how bright my new off-topic twin 10 watt 'Vistalight' lamps were and he said that his Lucas 'King of the Road' acetylene lamp that he used just before the war was just as bright. Could memory be playing it's magic with Uncle Ron's mind or were acetylene lamps really that bright?

I recently aquired an NOS Acetylene bicycle lamp in the box w/ all the instructions and literature but cant find anything on this lamp. The closest thing to a date is an 1897 patent. Anyone care to help or point me in
the
right direction?
