Nic No they were a very poor example of a decent light especially when during t he war the clear lenses had to be half blacked out as was the outer body. T he poor lighting I think it was due to the reflector which when new was fai rly good but with the heat of flame soon discoloured this. The plate became an extra protection for the outer chrome casing getting too hot.
I still have a few they are nothing but ornaments now and no one appears to be interested in collecting them. Having said that they do mark up a fair sum at antique shops and auctions.
Hang them on the dining room wall someone said ,who ever thought they would end up like that!!
