I'll be interested to see if anyone will pay the $2,500 opening price. I don't have any reason to question this is a genuine Herse, but it is a racing model apparently with no special Herse components or brazeons. Plus, 1983 was about 6 years after Rene's death and very near the end of Herse production. So I'm not sure what other than the Herse name makes this bike all that remarkable. If you were to sell this bike with any other name on it, you'd probably be lucky to get half the asking price.
