I was speaking to Bob Freitas about this particular Masi track bike that appeared on French ebay with a mangled description and not the best photos.

Before I got around to sending the seller a question, the bike disappeared! Given the recent discussion about ending auctions early, I

was curious to find out the real reason of the removal of the auction. The seller wrote back to me in apparent glee that somebody had offered him 500 euros (about $700) for the bike. Given the present popularity of both steel track bikes and the Masi brand, I dare say that had the seller simply let ebay follow its course (after correcting the spelling

error in the brand name), it would readily surpass that value.
