Howdy, all!

I have been following the recent thread re: Matteo Brandi & Chris Plunkett....I have dealt with both parties- Chris bought a nice PX-10 from me, paid my asking price like a gentleman, and was a good communicator the whole time. I have purchased items from Matteo on a couple of occasions- the first time, everything was real smooth. The next time, not so much...a couple of weeks after the auction closed, he e-mailed me that he could not find one of the items that I had purchased; did I want a refund? I said yes; the refund occured a couple of weeks later- still no goods arriving. Eventually, the item I purchased showed up (a vintage Clement tire sticker), and to Matteo's credit, there were some extra goodies in the packet. I personally believe that good communication is a key part of doing buisness, and Matteo has definitely had his lapses in that area. To end this part of my posting, I really believe that our forum should be used for this kind of thing only as a last resort- when something really blatantly egregious has occurred, and it becomes nessecary to warn our fellow listmembers that so-and-so is a crook.....on a lighter note, here is a link to some pix of the Motobecane 'Le Champion' that I have ben working on...I started with only a frame & fork, which is why it is very differently equipped than the 'Le Champion's that you saw at the LBS. BTW- I am not sure what year the frame is- if anyone out there could help me out in that department, I would greatly appreciate it! http://s204.photobucket.com/albums/bb172/curmudgeon1957/

Peace to all, Larry Myers Portland, OR, USA
