Subject: [CR]SoCal vintage ride (or bring what you want) Baldy Village ride. New start time

SATURDAY OCTOBER 27 10 AM sharp.

(start time changed to 10 AM to accomodate distant riders)

Time for another ride up to Baldy Village!

For those die-hard hill-climbers among us, this is always a satisfying ride.

This is an informal ride, just some friends getting together to ride up to the Village.

No liability expressed or implied. Everyone rides at their own risk.

Meet at Pioneer Park in Azusa (on Sierra Madre Blvd) at 9:30am. We'll leave at 10 am sharp. Mapquest will show the way.

Current riders:

Scott Smith Randy Dugan and friend Chuck Schmidt Steve Maas Davis Jensen Charles Andrews Sterling Peters

Traffic on the way up is usually very light to non-existent. Traffic down is light this time of year. I think three cars passed me last time on the downhill.

We ride to Glendora Mt. Road, up to Glendora Ridge Road, along the switchbacks to the Village, then back down Baldy Road to Claremont and food! The entire ride is about 50 miles, about half uphill, and half downhill.

This is an epic climb, with a very exciting downhill. The climb is about 5000 feet in 22 miles.

I'm assembling a list of folks who will be coming, so please let me know, so we know to expect you.

Note that this is NOT a no-drop ride, but I am usually sweeping the rear. It's unlikely you'll be slower than I am...to paraphrase another list-member, I'm generally about as fast as a flock of turtles.

It's always a great day. Let's hope for good weather...
