Subject: [CR]Cheap French Foil Stickers OR Better than Original?

Hello Group, I seek your counsel. I put a nice original Louison Bobet on ebay recently, and was surprised when it didn't meet its reserve of four hundred dollars. The reason may have been the only element of the bike that I really hated: the tattered and badly touched up foil sticker on the downtube that read "Le Voyageur." I took the hint of a fellow ebayer yesterday and with the help of a hair dryer, peeled the nasty thing off the downtube to find beautiful dark gold paint underneath. Here's my question: if I want to put "Le Voyageur" back on the downtube, what do you think of having a professional sign painter simply paint the large block letters on the tube? This would of course not be original, but it would be better to my mind than the cheap original foil sticker. What is the group's philosophy regarding making an element of the bike "better than original"? Thanks,
