Subject: [CR]Lambert Advice Sought

Friends: Am seeking advice from those who enjoy the slightly surreal pleasures of Lambert bicycles. I think I have assembled enough stuff to start restoring a Lambert of my own.

I want something that may not be exactly correct, but is at least plausible, I also want to be able to ride it a little bit, but don't need to be hard on it.

I already know that I need an alternative to the death fork. Mine is the lugless frame, white with orange panels. There is no downtube decal (which is where the model info is, in my experience), other decals intact. Has a double chainwheel with circular cutouts, cranks and BB have non-tapered spindles. Seller included a triple, but thinks the double is original. BB spindle is right length for triple though. Mine has Simplex Prestige Rear derailleur, seller included Lambert long cage rear and thinks it was original. Seller also included an extra front derailleur, extra pedals and other bits, so he had stuff from at least two bikes around. (Seller is COOL!) My preference is to build a bike with the double chainwheel, they look cool and where I live we have no hills to speak of. (My usual bail out gear is 42 X 21).

Does anybody have model / spec / color info for Lamberts with double chainwheels? Does anybody have any experience making the non-tapered spindles work? (I am thinking some sort of expanding adhesive, like Gorilla glue...) Might also upgrade to a Viscount tapered BB spindle and relable the cranks as Lambert... Any suggestions from Lambert / Viscount lovers appreciated!!
