Hi, All--

Tell you what I don't like about the 'senditnow' auctions (besiside their high starting prices) and why I personally do not currently buy from them. They always have a terse, arrogant statement----"What you see is what you get. Ask all questions before you bid." AND THEN DON'T EVEN GIVE A DECENT WRITTEN DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEM OR HAVE A REALLY GOOD GROUP OF PHOTOS.

It seems to me you can't just throw something up on the web with a poor photo and no description and then lay ALL THE RESPONSIBILITY for the auction in the lap of the potential buyer, falling back on, "Sorry. What you saw is what you got." I'm not saying they don't back up what they sell. I honestly don't know. But that kind of opener is not a good way to win friends and influence people. It tells me to steer clear.

The only way that attitude works for the buyer is when the item is obviously rare, lovely and pristine and can be easily identified. Then the seller's got it all over you. But that's far from the case with a lot of the senditnow stuff. The condition is often completely UNCLEAR from the poor photos and lack of written information. Even many of the basic facts about threading, etc. are missing. The auction offerings seem almost contentious to me, and who the heck needs that when you're shelling out your hard-earned cash?
