Eric,

I was just looking at that tubular gluing article today, small world!

As you said, Vittoria was the best tested. I suppose people use the 3M stuff because they always have, and maybe never rolled a tire, so they continue to use it, but from the results of the test, there is clearly better product.

I've bought it at Pep Boys recently. Somewhere on the web someone did a bunch of testing of various rim cements. Vittoria Mastik One was the best, so that's what I've been using since then.

In comparison Fast Tack wasn't that good, nor was Wolber, which were my two previous favorites. He didn't test Tubasti or any of the old red type ones so I don't know how those compared, my impression was that they didn't work nearly as well as Fast Tack or Wolber. I've never really had problems with tires rolling with any of them though.

Group, Is anyone still using the 3M trim adhesive product? I always found it a superb product and way less expensive than any of the cycling market glues. As I recall there are 2, 3M offerings one that will harden far too much for sew up use and one that works very well. The 3M product codes differ by one digit and, of course, my tube is in the garage and I am goofing off at work. Thanks Dan Mazzeo Morrison, CO

Subject: [CR]WTB 3M Fas Tac for rim cement

I've used Fas Tac ages ago and am looking for more to glue up my first tubies in years. Can someone direct me to where I might find this stuff? Internet searches have sent me everywhere but a place to buy it. Is Fas Tac contact cement still being made? And if not, what is a contact cement of choice or some other glue I can buy that allows me to keep the tires clean? Since this has had an extensive thread before, please contact me off list. I'll be at the Westminster Maryland Swap Meet if someone has some to sell.

Regards, and happy trails.
